Our farmer’s wife just had a baby boy! I wanted to make a little something to bless their family. I was so proud of myself for figuring out how to tie the bow with no knots (that unties completely when you pull the strings) =) It’s the little things, you know?
I LOVE a quick craft project! I cut the squares in one evening, pieced the top in an afternoon, made the sandwich and quilted it in two more evenings, then I attached the binding and hand-tacked most of it last night, and finished it this morning. I had enough ready-made binding leftover from Everett’s baby quilt, so that part went super fast. I have never done this quilting pattern before (square in square), but I really liked sewing it and I really like how it looks. However, I don’t think I could handle it on a larger quilt, because there were a LOT of pivots! Believe it or not, Adele helped me with some of the hand-sewing on the binding. I would load up the needle, and she would pull the needle and the thread. She did a really good job!

I love it — do you have a pattern to share??

I used a pre-made square template I bought at Joann’s a long time ago. I think it’s 5.5 inches. That’s all. I just laid them out and sewed them into rows, then attached the rows. It’s pretty simple.
